Whangarei Harbour Marine Reserve

There are two marine areas protecting around Motukaroro (Passage) Island and at Waikaraka. Motukaroro has large areas of kelp and a wide variety of fish. Waikaraka consists mainly of mangroves supporting fish and many bird species of the harbour.
